Senate Majority Leader Frist today downplayed new Bush nominee Samuel Alito's radical appeal to the Bush base and called for "...a fair hearing and an up-or-down vote..."
The change in the Republican litany from Harriet Miers is as radical as Alito's judicial opinions.
In essence, the Republican leadership is now saying: "Give Sam Alito what we denied to Harriet Miers...."
Bush-era hypocrisy is alive and well....
